The Management of University of Ilorin, Unilorin, has announced that its staff will be resuming in January, 2021
The better by far Varsity also announced January 11, 2021 as the resumption date for rain semester academic activities, according to a reliable source.

The following are the major resolutions from the Committee of Deans meeting held at 10.00am today- 30/12/2020.
There will be 13 weeks of lectures.
There will be 3 weeks of Rain Semester Examinations.
Only 2 weeks for marking and computations of results.
There will be Training of staff on Virtual Learning from Monday 4th January to Friday 8th Jan. 2021.
Rain Semester begins 11th Jan.
Rain Semester lectures start on 11th Jan. All Academic staff to start getting familiar with online teaching.
All faculties to nominate a Focal person who will be undergoing Train-the-trainer process.
The Chairman Info-tech will drive this and his Committee members.
We shall be starting with the Microsoft LMS module.
Practical classes will commence after COVID-19 break.
No student will be accommodated for now on campus. All lectures will be virtual.
Outstanding Examinations are likely to hold sometimes in February.
Please note that we only have about a week from today to develop coursewares.
Senate holds tomorrow to take further actions.
However, the management had earlier released a circular on December 23, 2020 on the stay at home guidelines of COVID-19 which reads, “sequel to the circular of the National Universities Commission Ref. No. NUC/ES/138/Vol.63/151 of 23 December 2020 directing a compulsory stay at home for non-essential workers from CONTISS 11, CONUASS 04 and below, management has directed in compliance as follows;
(i) All staff from CONTISS 11, CONUASS 04 and below should stay and work from home for a period of five weeks, with effect from Wednesday, 23 December 2020 to Wednesday, 27 January 2021. They are not expected to embark on any journey without permission. However, it should be noted that any staff could be called upon if their services are deemed necessary
(ii) Staff are expected to resume duty on Thursday, 28th January 2021 except otherwise instructed.
(iii) The various heads of essential Units should arrange a working schedule with their staff to ensure the continuous operation of such offices. This is without prejudice to 1 above.
(iv) Other Officers who will be at work are strongly advised to adhere strictly to announced safety regulations by W.H.O. and maintain a high regime of personal hygiene.
(V) Also and in line with the directives of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVKD-19, all activities, involving large crowds (e.g. classrooms, hostel accommodation, conferences and seminars), should be suspended, whilst the Universities remain closed during this intervening period, pending further directives by the Federal Government on the reopening of schools.
(vi). Recent returnees from overseas are to self-isolate and contact the following phone numbers of the University of Ilorin Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Prevention Committee: 08022600397 and 09093022622 in case of any emergency.
Now, it is apparent the University of Ilorin management has decided to convene lectures in January, 2021. It is now up to student to start their preparation for the rigorous task ahead of them. Best of luck.
