Some supporters of the incumbent President of United States of America, Donald Trump on Wednesday clashed with police as they attempted to gain access to the U.S. Capitol building where Congress are meeting to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s election win in the November election.
Hundreds of protesters gathered in Freedom Plaza on Tuesday evening, January 4, a day before a congressional vote to affirm Joe Biden’s victory to protest and back Trump’s unverified claims of election fraud.

Some Protesters were seen clashing with U.S. Capitol Police and overcoming barricades to make their way into the Capitol building as Congress counts the Electoral College ballots inside.
Reports said congressional staff in the U.S. Capitol complex were ordered to evacuate two buildings, the Cannon office building for House members, and the Madison building, part of the Library of Congress, as protests intensified.
