Two Popular Islamic Scholars, Sheik Dahiru Usman Bauchi, and the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh AbdulGaniyu Abubakry Agbotomokekere conducted Eid prayers on Wednesday despite the directive issued by the spiritual leaders of Muslim faithful in the country, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto.
Sultan, had declared Thursday, May 13, 2021, as the day of Salat and the first day of Shawwal.
But Eid prayers held at the Bauchi residence of Sheik Bauchi on Wednesday.
One of the cleric’s children, Tijjani Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, led the congregation with the cleric in attendance.
Also, the chief Imam of Imam performed Eid prayers at the Ibadan Central Eid praying ground, Agodi.
Among those in attendance were the Oyo State deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
In similar vein, a Twitter user also claimed that, some Muslim residents in Sokoto also observed eid prayer, he added that the Sultan of Sokoto was notified about the sighting of the moon in Birnin-kebbi and a well known Scholar in Bauchi personally notified the Sultan on the development.
