Fakorede Retains Ministry, as Governor Makinde Swears-in Commissioner-designates (See Portfolios)

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, yesterday, Monday sworn-in Engr. Seun Fakorede and nine other Commissioner-designates that were screened and confirmed by the State House of Assembly on Friday, September 29, 2021.

Media aide to one of the newly sworn in Commissioner, Engr. Fakorede , Kazeem Olalekan Israel let this out in a release on Monday.

According to the release, the inauguration ceremony was held at the Exco’s Chamber.

The release partly read: “While 3 of those that were reappointed were redeployed to some other Ministries, the Governor retained Engr. ‘Seun Fakorede as Commissioner for Youth and Sports”.

Fakorede, during a brief media interaction with pressmen promised that “the Ministry of Youth and Sports will come up with more impactful ideas for the youths while consolidating on the good works that were initiated before the dissolution of the cabinet.”

Fakorede in his burning passion for the development of youths, last month, partnered with a tech coy, Utiva to train unskilled and semi-skilled youths on digital skills which is believed to transform their lives for good.

“It’s a privilege to empower and encourage Youths in Nigeria to take advantage of this opportunity.

“To power this, there’s no better organization to partner with than Utiva — a Tech Learning platform helping Africans transition into Tech.” He added.

Names of the newly-sworn in commissioners

The newly sworn-in commissioners are: Mr. Seun Fakorede (Ministry of Youth and Sports), Mr. Adeniyi Adebisi (Ministry of Agriculture), Mr. Olasunkanmi Olaleye (Ministry of Trade, Investment and Commerce), Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun (Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism), Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulraheem (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology).

Others are: Mr. Abiodun Oni (Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources), Professor Misbau Babatunde (Ministry of Budget and Planning), Mr. Segun Olayiwola (Ministry of Lands and Housing), Dr. Bode Ladipo (Ministry of Health) and Alhaja Kafilat Omolabake Olayiwola (Ministry of Women Affairs).

Makinde urged the Commissioners on the need to deliver service and prioritise service for the overall wellbeing of the residents and growth of the State.
