No fewer than 22 outstanding Youths have been shortlisted for Tech-Learning & Scholarship programme sponsored by Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Engr. ‘Seun Fakorede.
Media Aide to the commissioner, Kazeem Olalekan Israel gave the update in a release sent to Vreporters on Monday.
According to the release, “The essence of the Tech Scholarship is to ensure that the Youths are trained in Tech-related courses and Artificial Intelligence in order to secure a greater career future. As we all know, Tech is the future of the world, not just Africa.
“Hence, it is important for the Youths to be trained in the Tech-line for them to in-turn contribute to the development of the country and the African Continent at large.
“After the rigorous screening process of over 7000 applicants, 22 outstanding Youths across board have been shortlisted and announced as winners of the first cohort of the Tech-Scholarship”.
Reacting to the development, Fakorede congratulates the awardees and declared that he is “very honoured to help these outstanding youths get started on their journey to a better, secure and rich future career in Tech and Artificial Intelligence.”
The tech scholarship was premiered on the 30th of September, 2021 in collaboration with a household name in Nigeria’s tech space, Utiva.
