Truck Crushes Tricycle Rider, Student To Death in Ibadan

An articulated truck, yesterday, Thursday, crushed a tricycle rider and a student to death in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The tragic accident occurred at Airport Junction in the Alakia area of the capital city.

An eyewitness said the truck ran over the tricycle operator, after it rammed into three stationary tricycles.

Sources said the driver was speeding when he rammed into the tricycles. It was gathered that the truck driver tried to escape from the scene after the accident but was captured by angry youths.

The driver also reportedly knocked down a student, killing him, before the mob apprehended him.

He was thereafter handed over to the police.
