Suspected Land Grabbers Invade OAU Community, ‘Attack VC Entourage’ (Photos)

Some suspected hoodlums believed to be land grabbers on Monday invaded some parts of Obafemi Awalowo University, OAU, community in Ile-ife.

According to Daily Mail, the hoodlums were bent on taking some parts of the land belonging to the university for personal use.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Eyitope Ogunmodede and some top management staff were reportedly attacked and made to turn back when they visit the place.

Vreporters learnt that, no life was lost, but the hoodlums were brandishing cutlasses and other dangerous weapons to scare away anybody coming their way.

According to report, the hoodlums were shooting sporadically for several minutes in an attempt to chase the management team away.

Reacting to the development, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr Olanrewaju in a chat with Vreporters confirmed the invasion, when asked about the situation at the moment , he replied ‘unpredictable “.
