Fact-Check: Did Police Arrest Four Teenage Secondary School Students in Lagos With Human Parts?

Following a report in some sections of the media that, four teenage secondary school students were arrested in Lagos with human parts concealed in their school bags, Vreporters took drastic steps to Fact-Check the claim in other to separate the wheat from the chaff.















The report mischievously claims that the young girls met their waterloo after a taxi driver conveyed them raised alarm that he perceived odour from his cab.

“The driver is said to have handed the girls to the gateman of the school and when their school bags were checked, human heads were found inside” .

The report also claimed that, the law enforcement agents in the area arrested the young ladies, even though the Police Command and the area where the incident reportedly occured were not captured in the report.

Findings
Vreporters upon sighting the story downloaded the featured image and launched it on Google image reverse platform to authenticate the veracity of the report.

According to Google image reverse, a picture attached to the latest report was initially used in March, 2020 where the same young ladies in the picture were said to be arrested for allegedly selling used condoms to ritualists to perpetrate evil.

The arrested young ladies according to report were; Inemesit Edet, Glory Johnson, Magreat Pius and Iniobong Udo of the Department of Mass Communication, Uyo City Polytechnic.

Verdict : The report is misleading and mischievous.
