WAEC Releases WASSCE Results For Private Candidates, Gives Breakdown

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, on Monday released the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, results for Private Candidates 2021- Second Series.

Head of National Office for the examination council , Patrick Areghan, let this out during a press conference at the council’s office in Yaba, Lagos.

Giving a breakdown of the results, Areghan said that of the 51,444 that wrote the examination, 25,008 representing 48.61 percent obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

WASSCE for Private Candidates, also known as General Certificate Examination, GCE, is written in November/December.

It’s a private examination that doesn’t require uniforms, but biometric registration is compulsory.

This examination is usually taken by secondary school leavers who want to correct deficiencies in their results with the aim of furthering their studies in any parts of the world.
