U.S. Fires Back at Russia Over Counter Sanctions On Top Officials

The United States has reacted to to the counter-sanctions imposed on its officials by Vladimir Putin led government.

Responding to the counter-sanctions on Wednesday , White House spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said that she, like other officials, has no plans to visit Russia for tourism purposes.

“None of us are planning tourist trips to Russia. None of us have bank accounts that we will not be able to access,” she added.

Commenting on reports that Russia may seize the assets of some US and international companies, Psaki wrote in a series of tweets:
“Any lawless decision by Russia to seize the assets of these companies will ultimately result in even more economic pain for Russia. It will compound the clear message to the global business community that Russia is not a safe place to invest and do business.”

Recall that Russia in a retaliatory move imposed sanctions on the US President, Joe Biden, and some top members of the US officials following the latter sanctions on some Russian oligarchs and their properties, the move by the US is to stop Russian forces to put end to the invasion of Ukraine over three weeks ago.
