#OAUGATE:Detained Ex-OAU SU President, Dr IBK Appears in Court Over Alleged Withdrawal of N720,000 Union Funds (Photos)

Arrested former President of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, students’ union, Oyekan Ibukun popularly known as ‘Dr Ibk’ over illegal withdrawal of N720,000 from the union account has been charged to court.

Vreporters reported that, the one time medical student of OAU was arrested following indicting document released by the Bank where the Union account is domiciled.

The suspect, Ibukun’s appearance in court is contained in a release issued by the image maker of the union, Ogunperi Taofeek Olalekan on Thursday.

According to the release, the court hearing is to be heard at a chief Magistrate’s Court along Ibadan Road, ile-ife, by 9am on Thursday, 14 April 2022.

Ogunperi highlighted that, some union officers including the President, Comrade Olayiwola Folahan Festus “Reform” and the Financial Secretary, Comrade Oluwasegun Abiola Joy, “Legbeti”, and other members of the Central Executive Council, Honourables and students will attend the hearing this morning.

Vreporters learnt that, some students visited Moore Police Station yesterday to confirm the insinuation making the rounds that, the detained Ibukun has been granted bail.

Reacting to the development, a student public figure, Oluwaseun Farombi, also known as ‘Baba Faros’ in a terse WhatsApp post said, he saw Ibukun behind the bar and when he tried to introduce himself, Ibukun reportedly claimed he had never met him before or recognized him .
