The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has declared Monday 2nd of May, 2022 as the 1st of Shawwal, which means the much anticipated Eid-el-fitr will be celebrated on the same day.
The kingdom via one its verified twitter handles @haramainInfo said the declaration is as a result of not sighting the Crescent for the new moon on Saturday.
The tweet read: “crescent has NOT been sighted in Saudi Arabia. #EidAlFitr will be celebrated on Monday 2nd May 2022. In shā Allāh
“May Allāh ﷻ allow us to utilise the remaining moments of this blessed month to engage in that which pleases Him and may He accept our siyām, qiyām & a’māl. Āmīn.”
The Nigerian Muslims await the announcement of their religious leader, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaj Dr. Sa’d Abubakar for an update on the religious festivity.
