Lagos Guber Aspirant, Tope Balogun Reacts To Ban of Okada

One of the aspirants eyeing the Lagos State Governor’s seat in Alausa, Ikeja, on the platform of Action Alliance, AA, Mr Tope Balogun has reacted to the total ban of Okada in six local governments within the state.

The partial ban of the commercial motorcyclists by the Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu might not be unconnected to the criminalities cum shenanigans being perpetrated by some of the operators in the state.

The directive by Sanwo-olu was precisely triggered by the roles of some Motocyclists plying Lekki area of the state in the death of a sound Engineer, David Imoh last Thursday.

Reacting to the government’s directive on Wednesday , Balogun said, banning of commercial motorcyclists is not measurable enough as maximum safety of Lagos residents should be the top priority of the government.

Balogun in a clearer term condemned the act by some lawless Motocyclists who have no regard for rule of law and human rights.

His words, “The lynching of a fine engineer, David Imoh at Lekki is condemnable. It demands stronger actions by the Government. Banning of riders is not measurable. People Of Lagos Should be SAFE while in search of Daily Means.
I commiserate with deceased’s family. May the dead rest well.”

The six local where commercial motorcycles have been restricted include; Ikeja, Surulere, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, Apapa, Eti-osa local governments respectively.
