Former Governor of Anambra who doubles as the Presidential candidate of Labour Party(LP), Mr Peter Obi has replied Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo over his performance as a former Governor.
Obi, in a reply on Tuesday, said he prays Soludo corrects his short comings when he was Governor and also make his own impact.
Soludo had argued that the investments Obi’s claimed to have done for the State as Governor is almost worthless today.
Soludo had also in a questioned the propriety of Obi investing the State’s resources in SabMiller , a company he is a shareholder when there were schools without roofs or classrooms, local governments without roads and or hospitals without doctors and nurses in the State
But Obi while speaking at Lagos Business School Alumni Conference on Tuesday said the investment he made is today employing over 10,000 people in the State.
The LBS Alumni Day with the theme: “The Leadership imperative” is one of the engagement platforms hosting political office seekers to answer questions and share their vision for the country.
Obi also noted that government is a continuum and Soludo, who is a Professor and more intelligent than himself who is a trader, has the chance to do better than him now that he is the governor.
He said: “When you spread your investment, some will go up, some will come down. But overall, the company is still there. The company is still doing well. It’s still part of a global chain and everything. I needed to explain it not because I’m defending comments made by my brother.”
“My brother is a brother and remains my brother. We’re very close. I remain prayerful for him. Of other things which I didn’t succeed, God has given him the opportunity to do it and succeed.
“For me if there is anything pending, governance, governance you don’t finish. People are still in government in America. So, you stop where you stop. Other people will continue from there.
“He is the Governor of the State; he is my senior brother, he is even more intelligent than me because he is a professor, I am a trader, so he knows more and will be able to do things better than I am doing it.
“I have done my little own as a trader, now the professor is there he will do his own as a professor, the schools I didn’t roof he will roof them, that’s how government goes.
“The one they said is worthless, we invested 3.5 billion naira in International Breweries…that facility is there employing directly and indirectly over 10,000 Anambarians. The shares was at a time being sold at N50, today the shares is about N5 or so.”
