UI @ 75: Management Inaugurates High-level Committee, Names Chairman

Ahead of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the University of Ibadan, tagged “UI@75” , this year, (1948 – 2023) the Management of the institution has inaugurated a high-level committee to plan, coordinate and execute various activities to mark the yet another memorable event.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale mni, FAS, stressed that, due to nature of the event, the committee was inaugurated early to give it enough time to prepare for the events to celebrate the anniversary billed to come up later in the year.

Professor Adebowale expressed his confidence in the committee noting that the members are people of adequate experience that will add value to the given task and charged them to start in earnest.

According to him, the task of the committee will involve fund raising amongst other pleasing activities that will characterize the event.

He thereafter, announced Prof. Peter Olamakinde Olapegba, a member of the University Governing Council, and the Director of the University Alumni Office as the Chairman/Convener of the Committee. The full membership will be released soon.

The VC charged the Committee to fully engage the alumni community of the University of Ibadan and ensure that a befitting 75th anniversary is put together for the University.

The Chairman/Convener, UI@75 Committee, Prof. Olapegba appreciates the University management for the confidence reposed in him, and promised to put his best in discharging the herculean task ahead.
