Hours After Declared Wanted, MohBad’s Childhood Friend, Primeboy Surrenders Self To Police (Video)

A childhood friend to the late singer Mohbad, Primeboy has surrendered himself to the Lagos police — less than a day after he was declared wanted.

Primeboy was declared wanted on Wednesday after he failed to comply with the invitation regarding an investigation into Mohbad’s death.

The police had also offered a reward of N1 million to anyone with useful information that would lead to his arrest.

But in a statement via X on Thursday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, said Primeboy has turned himself in and was taken into custody for interrogation.

Following his being declared wanted, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin aka Primeboy has turned himself in,” the statement reads.

“He has, immediately, been taken into custody for interrogation and other necessary actions.

“The Lagos State Police Command once again assures family, friends, fans of Mohbad and the general public that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring a most diligent investigation. The Command equally assures that all persons found culpable in the death of Mr Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad will definitely be brought to justice.”

Mohbad died on September 12 and was buried the next day.

Primeboy is a person of interest in the singer’s death.

There were insinuations on social media that Mohbad and Primeboy had a rift before his demise — although the singer’s friend denied the rumours.

Thousands of Nigerians have demanded justice for Mohbad in nationwide protests.

On September 18, the Lagos police inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death.

Idowu Owohunwa, the state commissioner of police, vowed that the command will use all its powers to fish out everyone indicted in the case.

On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.

The Lagos police took Naira Marley in its custody for interrogation on Tuesday while Sam Larry was detained on September 29.
