UNILORIN Expels, Rusticates 6 Final Year Students, 13 Other Undergraduates [See Names]

The management of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, UNILORIN, have approved expulsion and rustication for 19 undergraduates of the institution for various offences.

Among them are six final year students.

The better by far Varsity let this out in a statement by the director, Corporate Affairs of the institution, Mr, Kunle Akogun.

Akogun said the approval of the expulsion and rustication of the affected students was sequel to the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 220th/221st meeting.

The statement said that the affected students were penalized for misconduct, theft, examination malpractice and hostel bed-space racketeering and extortion.

Others include battery, admission racketeering, extortion and assault.

It also said that penalties for the offences committed by the students included expulsion, rustication for either one semester or one academic session.

The affected students were in various academic levels including six in their final year.
