Students Loan:12 More State-owned Institutions Get Onboarded on NELFUND Portal

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) says 12 additional state-owned tertiary institutions have uploaded their students’ data on its student verification system (SVS).

On Sunday, NELFUND revealed that only 36 of 151 state-owned institutions had uploaded their students’ data on the SVS, granting their students access to enrol in the loan scheme of the federal government.

It also advised other state-owned tertiary institutions yet to “submit their complete student data to its SVS portal to do so to enable their students to benefit from the scheme”.

Sharing an update on Wednesday, Nasir Ayitogo, the spokesperson for NELFUND, disclosed that the total number of state-owned institutions eligible to participate in the student loan scheme has now increased to 48.

Ayitogo also listed the additional 12 state-owned institutions onboarded for the scheme.

Last month, NELFUND approved the disbursement of the student loans to all successful applicants in its first rollout.
