The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yusha’u Ahmed, has told the serving corps members that their monthly allowance will increase as soon as civil servants start receiving the new minimum wage.

The DG stated this while addressing corps members at Kebbi State Orientation Camp, Dakingari and Sokoto State Orientation Camp in Wamakko.

According to him, the selfless and immense contributions of corps members to the socio-economic development of the country cannot be underestimated.

General Ahmed also implored them to use the opportunity of the service year to develop themselves and plan for greater heights in future, according to Channels TV.

He further advised the corps members to embrace the NYSC skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme, to acquire vocational skills that will make them self-reliant.

Recall that the Tinubu-led federal government recently agreed on a N70,000 new national minimum wage with the Organised Labour. Following the agreement, the bill was passed by the National Assembly and assented to by Mr President.
