22-year-old AAUA Student Shortlisted For 2024 Global Impact Award in USA

A 22-year-old Student at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba, AAUA, who also doubles as the founder of Resilient Girl Initiative, Joy Oluwatoyin Adeboye has been announced among the shortlisted 35 finalists for 2024 ORG global impact award from public interest Registry united states of America at the Rising star category.

Selected from over 1,700 applicants across the world, nearly 90 countries, the Kwara-born activist, Joy was recognized for her transformative and exceptional work in advancing women and girls right especially on leadership and ending violence against women and girls In Nigeria and Africa.

According to Joy, “ My survivorship of being a Rape and child labor victim at age 14 influenced my life in promoting Gender Equality, this tragedy took away the best part of my teenage life and attempting sucide out of mental health disorder”. She founded Resilient Girl Initiative which has empowered over 20,000 women and girls on every areas that concerns to achieving gender equality.

The young feminist stressed further, “I began my impact making at age 15 because I need to be a voice for other young girls like me who are facing all forms of Injustices”.

Joy said ” I want my life to always inspire young girls like me, irrespective of the abuse you can stand out to become a great lady, I also charge you to speak out to people who can help if you’re a victim.

As one of the 35 global finalists for the 2024 .ORG Impact Awards, Joy is eligible for a donation ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, with the final awards to be announced on October 8, 2024, in Washington, D.C.

All finalists, including Joy , will receive an initial $2,500 donation and compete in categories as Rising Star, where Resilient Girl Initiative and Joy Oluwatoyin has been recognized.
