Students of Federal University, oye Ekiti (FUOYE) and some concerned Nigerians have demanded for justice over the death of their colleagues who were allegedly killed by the police during a protest on Tuesday.
The students and some concerned Nigerians took to their Twitter accounts to demand for justice with the hash tag #JusticeForFuoye.
A reliable source from the university told VReporters that, the renowned lawyer cum human rights activist, Femi Falana has been reached out to. According to the source, ” we have reached out to Barrister Femi Falana over the extra- judicial killing of two of our colleagues, Dada Kehinde, a hundred level student of the department of crop science and Okonuoa Joseph (a.k.a Icon Joseph) a 300-level student of Biology Education who were killed by the police and he has promised to get back to us”, the source said.
One of the deceased, Dada Kehinde, was laid to rest on Thursday by the Federation of Usi students. Another source told VReporters that, the decision to lay Kehinde to rest was taken by his parents , even when some students wanted to delay the process in a bid to gather more evidences against those behind his death.
